Q: Where can I hear some songs ?
A: Check the "Audio & Video" page - that's where we post live recordings and studio stuff. If you are interested in hearing what we were doing before we were Mandrakes, then check out these links:
LUGNUT / THE MANDRAKES.
Q: Why don't you play original material ?
A: We usualy toss in an original song or two between popular songs to see if anyone can tell the difference. And we NEVER announce them. That way we see who keeps dancing and grooving on it and who stops. That is how we can tell if a song is good or not.
Q: Are you available to play private parties ?
A: YES. Email us and let's talk. We're also are available to learn songs for a party - so if you want to hear us play Hotel California and some Mott The Hoople as well as that Patsy Cline tune your grandmother weeps for, just let us know.
Q: Can I get up and sing one with you ?
A: Maybe. We love the live kareoke thing. But if you are a slobbering drunk, an obnoxious asshole or you smell - don't even think of touching my mic....
Q: Where do you guys stand on the whole file sharing/downloading of music thing ?
A: Downloading is stealing, and stealing is always good fun. Read your history - it's the American way. The recording companies are using a business model that is dead, and they are now bitching because they had it so good for so long and fear change. They are clueless and bleeding from the neck like a chicken with it's head cut off. Downloading is the future of music and we embrace it and support it. So make sure you don't get caught and be sure to share your stolen files with everyone! And if you really like the stuff you are hearing, then pay to go to a show, buy the band merchandise, support the bands you like with love, emails, good word of mouth, and it is always a good idea, if you can, to send them good quality naked photos of yourself (if you are attractive and female). Most bands make money playing live and selling their merch. Most record companies make money giving bands shitty record deals, lying to the band about releasing the record, and then exploiting the band into the ground to suit the companies quarterly fiscal reports. Don't feel sorry for the record companies. They didn't feel sorry for you when they made everybody throw out their vinyl LP records and record players and re-buy everything in CD format at a higher price.
